Be Strong LA

Be Strong and the ONA team launched the world's largest anti-bullying event free for attendees and free for schools who tuned in via simulcast at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA. With over 1 million total impressions, and an estimated 10,000 students in attendance, the event sparked an 84% increase in instagram engagements. Featured on ABC Eyewitness News, and Green Dot California, the event featured remarks by inspirational public speaker and You Tube sensation Nick Vujicic and other guests — including best-selling author, Broadway performer and motivational speaker Jessie Funk as host and music by the Los Angeles trio, Breaking Heights.

Be Strong x DIFF Eyewear

Joshua, one of the anti-bullying advocates for Be Strong Global, came by the DIFF Headquarters to receive 100 pairs of glasses on behalf of the Be Strong Student Leaders. These glasses were given as a donation to one hundred boys and girls throughout the nation who are standing up and speaking out against bullying, alongside Joshua.

Since the age of five, Joshua has found comfort in wearing a dress shirt and bowtie because it makes him feel “distinguished”. Homeless in Los Angeles for 3 years, Joshua’s mother made sure that this period of homelessness did not stop Joshua from being his truest and most authentic self. She kept his clothes clean, his spirits high, and his heart full of love. Unfortunately, like so many others, Joshua fell victim to severe physical and emotional bullying.

Now homeschooled, Joshua spends his free time encouraging and inspiring other students. He stresses the importance of not allowing bullies to discourage kids from to achieving their goals.

DIFF Eyewear was so moved by Joshua’s story that they have entered a partnership with Be Strong Global to put an end to bullying in the United States.
